Graphite Grey 44mm Log Cabin, Enfield, London E4

Lomax + Wood Garden Rooms have supplied a made-to-order timber log cabin for a family in London E4. The buyer was looking for a family garden room that his builder could put up for him and help provide the other important elements of the build.

In this case, with a builder on site, it was easier for the customer to coordinate the timber garden room project with his builder. However, Lomax + Wood Garden Rooms can provide a range of different levels of service from supply only, supply and fit all the way through to the complete project, including base and electrics.

The log cabin is finished in graphite grey, with a flat EPDM roof, chrome hardware and without a timber floor. The customer chose to lay the foundation beams on contemporary-style grey paving slabs to compliment the graphite grey timber finish. The slabs inside and outside the building create continuity of finish and a feeling of space. A mastic joint was added internally and externally to protect the foundation beam.

The timber garden room was constructed with two rooms, a living space and a separate storage space. The bi-folding doors allow the living area to open up and welcome the summer in.

The log cabin is a 44mm single wall construction, and without insulation, the customer intends to use it in the summer only. Lomax + Wood timber garden rooms are made-to-order, so can be constructed with a range of options, including insulated floors, walls and roof. This, combined with high-performing double-glazed windows and doors, can allow the building to become an all-year-round asset.
